In collaboration with Wasserman, Go2 Productions was tasked with creating an engaging, interactive soccer game for a weekend-long Block Party activation. The goal was to design an experience that would captivate attendees and encourage active participation throughout the event.
A partnership with Greg Mike informed the art Direction for the interactive game, where attendees were asked to kick a ball at the interactive LED wall. The number of points scored trigger fun animations up the building, creating an impressive activations that could be seen for miles across the Chicago skyline.
The game featured a soccer goal with a massive LED wall backdrop with 3D graphics, displaying moving brand targets. Participants had to shoot the soccer ball into the net. Each successful hit made a target disappear and awarded points to the player. The game was timed, challenging players to score as many points as possible to climb the leaderboard.
I worked with the technical designer on the original UX and UI of the game as well as a number of the projected building transformations.
We also looked at the development of the technology, adapting the product for different sports applications. The travelling piece has since been successfully rebranded for additional events across the US and even Dubai.
The game drew consistent crowds and kept fans engaged during the full day of activities. It was accessible, easy to play, and a perfect fit for the spirit of the MLS All-Star event. Feedback from both the client and attendees was highly positive, reinforcing the value of interactive, tech-driven activations at large-scale sports events.
